Ground Rules

1. Confidentiality

Exercises in this programme, whether in workshops and in coaching groups, require participants to coach and be coached by one another. We encourage participants, when they are in the client role, to bring real issues from their own lives to the coaching. We believe that this is an integral part of the learning process – for the client, for coach and the others who observe. We leave it up to the participants to choose the issues they bring to their sessions as clients.

We thus require participants to keep confidential all issues brought up during these sessions. All the information that was shared should be treated with utmost confidentiality. This includes information relating to all face-to-face interactions participants have during the programme, and those that are logged and recorded whether virtually or in material form.
Breaching such confidentiality is a serious offense and would mean expulsion from the course.

Participants are also prohibited from using this information in any way, whether outside of programme while it is ongoing, or after the programme ends.

The training is personal to the registered participant and that there is a requirement of confidentiality as personal and confidential information may be shared by other participants. As such, participants are required to ensure they are in a private location when they join the session and that the session shall not be recorded or shared directly or indirectly with non-registered participants.

2. Presence

All sessions in the programme are live and delivered virtually via a videoconference platform. Participants join the sessions from any supported device – desktops, tablets and mobiles. Participants are required to be fully present during all sessions – available on audio and video throughout. This includes participating in the exercises and groups discussions, without distraction or multi-tasking.

3. Recordings

From time to time, we may record workshops and coaching groups. Recordings will be reviewed by instructors on the programme and will be used to provide instructors with feedback on their work. Recordings will also be reviewed by instructors for the purpose of providing written feedback to participants on their observed coaching sessions.

4. Feedback

During coaching groups and exercises, participants are required to observe each other and provide feedback. We encourage participants to provide constructive and actionable feedback, and to keep in mind their fellow participants’ interests when doing so. We hope participants can be open and curious about learning, and to see feedback as a core part of our development as coaches.

5. Peer-coaching

We encourage participants to form peer-coaching arrangements with fellow participants in the programme. These can be current participants or alumni. Participants who are interested in peer-coaching are at liberty to share their contact details for that purpose.
